About Us
We are a team of 9 students from Cal Poly SLO working together on our capstone project. Within 10 weeks we must design, manufacture, sell, and distribute 100+ units of our product. By launching this small startup, we are putting all the skills we have learned to the test with our own money at stake. Although this started as a class requirement, this has become a passion project for every one of us as we fell in love with the design and mission. We truly believe that the Trilogy Light is an amazing product and hope that you do too!
Meet the Team
Arjun Sethi
Arjun is our Operations Manager and Floor Supervisor! Simply put, Arjun is the leader of our team. He is in charge of setting up all general administrative operations for the team and delegates all responsibilities to the rest of our team. As Floor Supervisor, Arjun is responsible for assigning group members during production according to their abilities and is the shop foreman during prototyping and production. Arjun is a third-year Industrial Technology major from Pleasanton, California and enjoys film and photography and playing golf in his free time. Arjun previously interned at MindBody in Product Marketing. Arjun hopes to work as a Manufacturing Engineer in the automotive industry after graduating.
Lauren Hughes
Lauren is the co-Assistant Operations Manager and co-Production Manager. She is a third-year Industrial Technology & Packaging major from Fremont, CA. After finishing this project in June she will be moving out of state to work as a Continuous Improvement Co-Op with Collins Aerospace.
Oliver Kensinger
Oliver is the Assistant Operations Manager. He works directly with the OM to make sure that the team’s deliverables are being met and setting the agenda for each day. He also assists with all the other roles where needed from the marketing strategy to product design considerations to manufacturing processes. He is interested in supply chain and product management, and will be working as a supply chain intern at Boeing this summer. He is from Newark, NJ, and loves to surf, work out, and play disc golf when he isn’t busy making awesome looking lights.
Kieran Price
Kieran is our lead Manufacturing Engineer and he is also responsible for packaging testing. His role includes prototyping and creating a lean manufacturing process. He is also responsible for teaching the team how to properly use the equipment and machinery. Outside of this project, Kieran enjoys disc golf, backpacking, and taking road trips. He is a 4th year Industrial Technology major from Healdsburg, CA, and is graduating in June. After graduating, Kieran will be working at Garden Society as a process improvement engineer.
Kaile Camacho
Kaile, a third-year ITP student, is our head of Marketing and Sales. She was heavily involved in the early stages of the design process to ensure that the product was modeled after current interior design trends and met the needs of customers. Now, she is working to make sure that as many people have the opportunity to learn about our product! In her off time, Kaile works for Central Coast Lean and is on the executive boards of Net Impact club and Delta Sigma Pi.
Joe Garza
Joe is the Personnel Director and Facilities manager assisting across accounting, manufacturing, marketing, and sales. Originally from Madera, CA, Joe is graduating this year with a degree in Industrial Technology & Packaging. Currently working part time as the Operations Coordinator for Span Construction & Engineering, Joe hopes to continue his passion for business analysis and continuous improvement as he finishes his university career.
Daniel Lee
Daniel, a fourth year Industrial Technology student, is the Purchasing and Account Manager and assists with quality assurance. He is responsible for creating the bank account for the team and managing cash flow and balance sheets. He must ensure that there is always enough money for buying raw materials and enough to make a profit. Outside of this project, Daniel enjoys golfing and surfing in his free time and will go into consulting.
Bumjoon Cho
Bumjoon is our design/manufacturing engineer and packaging engineer. It is the job of an engineer to make sure to turn the team’s original ideas into a product with the right dimensions and shape as well as help come up with a packaging design that will secure the product in transportation and save as much cost as possible. Bumjoon is a third year Industrial Technology & Packaging major from Castro Valley, CA and enjoys playing basketball and listening to music in his free time. After graduating, Bumjoon intends to work as a mechanical engineer at an automotive manufacturing company.
Zac Jacobson
Zac is a gadget member of the team who has assisted in various capacities. He has been heavily involved with design, manufacturing, and memes. In his final year at Cal Poly, Zac enjoys surfing, hooping, and spending time with friends.
